I last used a camera in manual settings on an SLR film camera 10 years ago, and since then I've had

a variety of compact cameras with only

automatic settings.

When I got my my first DSLR, I carried on in automatic for a while but knew it had the potential for so much more. Since the first course I did with Neil, Street Safari, I have only used AV, TV or manual and tend to shoot in RAW. I get more satisfaction knowing that, good or bad, the results are down to me and not the camera.
